Q. Can
I become a model?
A. Yes, any one can become
a model. You don't have to be
tall, beautiful, slim, tall, and
photogenic, know how to act etc.
You may require some all of the
above to be on the cover of the
magazine, but you may also have
to attain certain skills talents
or features that can make you
famous; Your Legs, Hands and Eyes
are just a few examples. Are all
movie stars gorgeous or tall?
Being short does not mean you
can't be model, it means if you
can't do runway modeling, it does
not limit you to other types of
modeling.
Q. If you
model for any product could you
move up to higher levels?
A. It doesn't work with
levels of advancement like a normal
job. Your advancement can depend
on what area of modeling you are
targeting - the industry demand,
the availability of other models
etc. Advancement usually comes
with persistence commitment and
marketing i.e. get your lookout
there in any and every way possible.
The more you are out there, the
more chance of getting assignments,
which will gain you experience
and thus help you advance.
Q. I don't
have much money so can I make
a start in modeling?
A. Generally, the only
basic cost associated in this
industry are photographs and training
i.e., How to Pose, Cat Walk, Makeup,
etc, those cost can vary from
photographer to agency/modeling
school. These high costs are mainly
the reason Faces 'N' Figures was
created. Although we can't teach
you make up, posing etc. We at
least cut the cost down of spending
thousand of rupees in photographs
to be sent to various talent agencies
and scouts, all we require are
a few professional photographs.
That will allow us to promote
you with Faces 'N' Figures.
Q. What is
a Portfolio?
A. It's a collection of
your modeling pictures.
Q. How many
pictures you need?
A. You should only keep
appealing pictures, always bear
it in mind that you are only as
good as your worst picture! Models
should aim for quality not quantity!
Avoid using 2 pictures of the
same look and feel. Black and
white is the Industry's favorite.
9 x 12 " are the standard
size. We (agency) will require
you to send us an 11 x 14"
for our books. A basic but versatile
portfolio would have a casual
head shot, styled head shot, body
shot (conservative swim suit or
lingerie) a fashion shot (sexy)
action shot , an editorial shot
and even a catalogue shot. As
you gain experience replace the
older picture with newer ones.
Keep your best pictures at the
end to leave a last impression.
Do not wear jewellery for those
prints; it takes the attention
away from you. The wrong choice
of under garments may show panty
line or bra straps and will distract
the viewer (on the job or in interview
it can mean the difference between
looking professional or not).
Tailor your portfolio for your
strengths and type of modeling
you are doing.
Q. How do
we register online as a model?
A. You can register
online as a model on our website
by clicking on the Model
Registration. |
